UPC - Litigation & Mock Trial Module

Prepare for the unitary patent and the Unified Patent Court

In conjunction with Maastricht University, the Stichting Beroepsopleiding Octrooigemachtigden (foundation for training patent attorneys) (SBO) is offering the UPC litigation & mock trial module.

Participants

This course is for patent attorneys both in and outside of the Netherlands who can register with the UPC Registrar as a UPC representative (e.g. SBO alumni), based on a successfully completed training programme according to the Rules on the EPLC and other appropriate qualifications (Rule 12) .

Any other interested parties are also welcome.

Theory sessions and discussions, explaining and preparing mock trials.

December 9 and 10, 2024:
Reflection and practicing: mock trials

Accommodation

This course includes 2 overnight stays: November 25-26 at Hotel and Conference Center Buitenplaats de Bergse Bossen at Driebergen-Rijsenburg and December 9-10 at Hotel and Conference Center Woudschoten te Zeist.

(Individual) study workload

Study materials to read for the first meeting (materials available begin November)
Preparation of mock trials; group effort with statement of claim to be submitted in the period November 26th – December 6th. Please be aware that the preparation of the mock trials will claim considerable time and effort in the days between the theory sessions and the mock trials.
